Our Commitment to Healthy Puppies
At Maplewood Companion Dogs, the health and well-being of our puppies is extremely important to us. We take great care in raising healthy puppies by selecting quality parent dogs, providing proper veterinary care, and raising our puppies in a loving family environment.
Every puppy from our program is raised with attention to health, nutrition, and early development. To provide additional peace of mind to our families, each puppy comes with a 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee.
Veterinary Examination
Before leaving for their new homes, all puppies receive:
• A complete veterinary health examination
• Age-appropriate vaccinations
• A deworming schedule
• A health record provided to the new owner
Our veterinarian carefully checks each puppy to ensure they are healthy and ready to join their new family.
2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee
We guarantee that your puppy is free from serious hereditary or genetic health conditions for two (2) years from the date of birth.
This guarantee covers serious congenital or hereditary conditions that significantly affect the puppy’s quality of life, including conditions that are proven to be genetic in nature.
If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses your puppy with a qualifying hereditary condition within the two-year guarantee period, we will work with you to resolve the situation.
Buyer Responsibilities
To maintain the validity of the health guarantee, the buyer agrees to the following responsibilities:
• The puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup or delivery.
• The puppy must receive regular veterinary care, vaccinations, and proper nutrition.
• The puppy must not be neglected, abused, or subjected to unsafe living conditions.
• The buyer must maintain routine preventative care including vaccinations, parasite prevention, and general health maintenance.
Failure to provide proper veterinary care may void the health guarantee.
What Is Not Covered
While we do everything possible to raise healthy puppies, certain conditions are not covered under this guarantee.
The health guarantee does not cover:
• Minor health conditions that do not affect the puppy’s overall quality of life
• Common parasites or infections after the puppy leaves our care
• Injuries caused by accidents or neglect
• Allergies or sensitivities
• Conditions caused by poor nutrition or lack of veterinary care
If a Health Issue Occurs
In the rare event that a hereditary condition covered by the guarantee is diagnosed, the buyer must provide:
• Written documentation from a licensed veterinarian
• Medical records confirming the diagnosis
• Veterinary reports explaining the condition
After review, Maplewood Companion Dogs may offer one of the following solutions:
• A replacement puppy from a future litter (when available)
• A partial refund at our discretion
• Assistance and guidance for the puppy’s care
Our goal is always to work with families in a fair and supportive way.
Lifetime Breeder Support
Our relationship with our puppy families does not end when the puppy goes home. We are always happy to provide guidance, answer questions, and help ensure your puppy grows into a happy and healthy companion.
Our Promise
At Maplewood Companion Dogs, we believe responsible breeding means standing behind every puppy we raise.
We are committed to producing healthy, well-socialized companion dogs and supporting our families long after their puppy joins their home.
